In the heart of old Karlovo, among stone walls and blooming geraniums, awaits a house with a covered terrace and courtyard — for decades a synonym of refined cuisine, wine, and hospitality. "Edno Vreme" is not just a restaurant — it is an experience in which every dish tells a story, and every evening becomes a memory.
…a bey. He lived in a house, beside which he built a harem for his wives and a konak from which he ruled the town and the entire sub-Balkan region. The Liberation erased the bey's name from history but left, as a legacy to a thriving artisan center, three beautiful buildings.
Three centuries later, the konak became a restaurant. Known as "The Camel's House" — which legend says was the first in our lands to have an indoor toilet — the building passed through many transformations until it was decided to invite restorers from Old Plovdiv. Then its façade received finely-painted blue accents on its walls, and the ceilings within received masterful walnut woodcarvings.
To this day, the Camel's House glows with the warmth of "Edno Vreme" — a place where every dish is served with imagination, and the atmosphere is embraced by the Balkan range, the clean mountain air, and a time that refuses to fade.
Our menu is a tribute to Bulgarian culinary memory and a dialogue with the world. Authentic Karlovo recipes meet international dishes — cooked slowly, with care for detail and with products from local producers. The cheeses come from the dairies of Karlovo, Karnare, and Domlyan; the peppers and tomatoes — from the Karlovo region; the porcini — from the Balkan Mountains.
And to finish — a glass of "Edno Vreme" anise rakia. The Karlovo tradition, served in a small glass, slowly, with respect for time.
…and more — fresh pasta and risotto, fish and seafood, charcoal-grilled barbecue, homemade desserts. These are just a few highlights — the full menu awaits you at Restaurant, Terrace & Courtyard "Edno Vreme".
"A table at which one sits with respect, and from which one rises with gratitude."
